211For Crisis Intervention and Information & Referral Services, 24 hours a day:
ABVI-Goodwill’s 2-1-1/LIFE LINE Call Center is an Accredited Information and Referral Program through the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems and a Certified Crisis Center through the American Association of Suicidology. 2-1-1/LIFE LINE has offered emergency mental health assistance, crisis and short term supportive counseling and comprehensive information and referrals to human service providers by telephone to the Finger Lakes region of NYS since 1973; 2-1-1 dialing access was added in 2005. In addition to the core services above for residents of Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, Ontario, Cayuga and Seneca Counties, 2-1-1/LIFE LINE operates other health and human services hotline numbers by contract, including statewide hotlines. After-hours assistance is provided to contracted agencies in our local service region. People who have used 2-1-1/LIFE LINE’s services say: “As a Social Worker in an emergency room, I need fast and accurate resource information for my patients before they are discharged. I access the 2-1-1 website to find all of the information I need, print it out, and give it to my patients to take home with them.” “I call LIFE LINE because they listen to me and make me feel better when I’m frustrated or feeling down about something. I get lonely and the people at LIFE LINE are my friends.”
