ABVI’s team of social workers understands that experiencing gradual or sudden vision loss can be an emotional and difficult process for the individual and his or her loved ones. Our social workers strive to assist and promote the highest quality of life possible for each person. As part of our Person Centered approach, services are tailored to the individual, based upon their strengths, desires, and goals.
Our social workers have been trained to assist by providing comprehensive information, referrals and counseling. The team also facilitates support groups that bring together people with vision loss in a safe, open setting for sharing and mutual support. Family members and friends of those impacted by vision loss are also given resources to assist with the adjustment process.
